Solid timber, also known as traditional tongue & groove,
is the most popular choice of timber flooring used. Reasons
for this are that it is extremely durable and sturdy, and has
a longer life span than most of the other timber flooring products
available. It can be repaired esaily, or rejuvenated with a
sand & polish, or even a scuff back and re-coat. This may
be done from time to time, and maintain it's solid and beuatiful
unique look. |

Engineered floating flooring combines the sophistication of real timber with an ingenius construction giving you a stable floor
and making the installation process easy over many surfaces. Floating floors can be laid on any hard level surface such as concrete, tiles,
and timber sub-floors. Because of it's thin timber veneer and it's pre-finished hard surface, floating floors are a cheaper option of timber floors.
It also has the advantage for areas where height is a restriction, especially in units. Sound insulation and acoustic underlay are easily
installed under floating floors when required.

Laminate flooring is a floor which is very high in wear & scratch resistance. This is supported by it's 10 year warranty on the

Laminate flooring comes in a large varity of colours and grains without the extra cost. It also has an advantage factor when it comes to height
restriction. It can be installed over concrete, tiles, and timber sub-floors.

Parquetry is a solid and hard-wearing floor covering which may be installed in various patterns. It comes in blocks of timber which are
roughly 260mm by 60mm x 19mm and are laid individually to create the pattern of your choice. Parquetry is precision-milled and is designed
to be glued down directly over a solid or flat sub-floor. It can be installed over concrete, over particle board, plywood, or existing timber
floors. It usually comes raw and must be sanded & polished. It can be easily repaired or replaced if damaged by replacing individual
blocks or sanding & polishing.

Decking is a timber flooring which is used and installed on outdoor verendahs, balconies, yards and around pools. It is fixed by using
galvanised or stainless steel fixings which are exposed and is durable in outdoor climates. Decking oil is applied to the timber to protect it
from UV rays and rainwater. There is normally a 3-5mm gap left between boards which act as drainage for water. It is a classy and smart way
to finish your outdoor area.

With the ever-increasing demand for hard floor surfaces such as parquetry, stip timber, laminate and floating floors, comes the need to provide
efficient impact sound isolation. The most common problem for sound is footfall noise transferring from floor to floor and buildings. In most
unit complexes it is essential that sound acoustic underlays are used under timber flooring. It is then important to choose the right impact
sound acoustic underlay to suit your floor. There are a few types of acoustic sound barriers which include Impactmat, Regupol, Quiet Step, and
Cork Sheeting. These may be used in units, flats, duplexes, hotels, gyms, and schools.

Sanding & Polishing a timber floor is one of the last processes to be done to a floor. Timber floors can deteriorate over time either from
prolonged use and wear & tear. Scuffs and scratches can easily be wiped away with periodical sanding & polishing to restore timber floors
to their original glow and vibrance. Sanding & polishing is an inexpensive solution to having to replace timber floors completely because of
damage or scratches. Sanding is the process used to flatten, smooth, clean, and prepare timber flooring for sealed finishes. There are a few types
of finishes which we can use for your timber floor which include polyurethane, tongue oil, modified oil, water based finishes, or spirit based
finishes. Most finishes come in three gloss levels: gloss, semi-gloss, and satin finish.

There are many various colours of stain to choose from. You can have a straight stain colour, or a blend of stain colours. This option helps to
set your timber floor apart and add individuality and personality to your timber floor. This is also a smart option for old stained floor boards
to help camoflague stains from them or even colour variants from board to board. Stain floors also must be sealed with a varnish on top in a gloss,
semi-gloss, or stain finish.

We offer a maintenance service for all of our timber flooring clients, and also for those who have had timber floors installed at their premises. We cater for dirty & gritty floors, light-affected floors causing chemical reactions, floors damaged by furniture or ropping objects, and even just plain greasy floors. Our clients generally request us to polish their floors every 8 - 12 months depending on traffic and how the floor is maintained. It is recommended that floors are polished before the varnish has worn through to the timber. This will eliminate any full sanding & polishing requirements which can take longer and be more expensive to repair. Prestige Flooring use hard-wearing finishes when requested to prolong the polishing of floors to give you value for your money. Maintenance |
