Laminate flooring
Laminate flooring is a floor which is very high in wear &
scratch resistance. Prestige Flooring supports laminate flooring
with our 10 year warranty on the product. It
is an effective way of owning your own timber floor without
the addition preparation or space consideration required for
solid timber.
How it works?
Laminate flooring comprises of a number of layers.
The decor layer is a photograph of real wood which is printed
on paper. This paper is impregnated with a melamine resin. On
top of this, a very strong transparent protective
layer is placed.
Laminate flooring comes in a large variety of colours
and grains without the extra cost. It also has an advantage
factor when it comes to height restriction. It can be installed
over concrete, tiles, and timber sub-floors.
As a cheaper alternative, Laminate flooring looks just like wood, but it is actually made of fiberboard with a surface of paper photos of real wood or wood grains. It is compacted together and made to last. It is made to withstand everyday use better than wood floors, but some laminate flooring will not hold up under the weight of heavy furniture. In this case, you need to look for laminate with an aluminum locking system. Laminate flooring is becoming the flooring of choice for many hospitals and restaurants, not only because of its durability, but also because its price difference.
Types of Laminate Flooring
Direct pressure laminate flooring is made up of three layers. Although it is popular it is not the strongest of floors. It can often be dented or scratched however Prestige flooring can be contacted at any point to attend to these minor repairs.
High pressure laminate flooring - generally has five layers, making it stronger and much more able to stand up to rough traffic. It will last longer and still look like new.
At prestige flooring, we recommend and use the highest
quality flooring products. For this reason is important
that your choice of laminate flooring is water repellent and
resistant. We don't recommend using laminate flooring on kitchens
or bathrooms based on the water resistant factor.
On all Laminate flooring we install, there is a guarantee on our workmanship as well as products so rest assured that we will look after you.
